Hyundai Venue: Engine Control System / Variable Intake Solenoid (VIS) Valve. Repair procedures

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. |
Disconnect the VIS valve connector.
|
3. |
Measure resistance between VIS valve terminals 1 and 2.
Specification : 30.0 - 35.0Ω [20°C (68°F)]

Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-)
terminal.
|
2. |
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")
|
3. |
Remove the ETC module.
(Refer to Engine Control System - "ETC (Electronic Throttle Control)
System")
|
4. |
Disconnect the variable intake solenoid valve connector (A).
|
5. |
Disconnect the vacuum hose (B) from the valve.
|
6. |
Remove the installation bolts and nut, and then remove the valve (C)
from the surge tank.
Variable intake solenoid valve bracket installtion bolt :
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

Install the component with the specified torques.
|

Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped.
In this case, use it after inspecting.

Be careful of foreign material not to flow into the valve.
|

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Other information:
The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and there are no parts you can safely service
by yourself. If the SRS air bag warning light does not illuminate when the ignition
switch is in the ON position, or continuously remains on, have your vehicle immediately
inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer...
ALWAYS use the Floor Mat Anchors to attach the front floor mats to the vehicle.
The anchors on the front floor carpet keep the floor mats from sliding forward.
WARNING
Do not overlay additional mats or liners over the floor mats. If using All
Weather mats, remove the carpeted floor mats before installing them...
