| Removal |

Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.
|
| 3. |
Remove the cover (A).
|
| 4. |
Using SST (09546-3X100), loosen the self locking nut.
|
| 5. |
Disconnect the stabilizer link with the front strut assembly after loosening
the nut (A).
|
| 6. |
Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and than remove the wheel speed sensor
bracket.
|
| 7. |
Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and than remove the brake hose bracket.
|
| 8. |
Remove the front strut assembly (A) from the front axle (B) by loosening
the bolts & nuts.

| Disassembly |

| 1. |
Using the spring compressor, compress the coil spring (A).
Do not compress the spring more than necessary.
|
| 2. |
Using SST (09546-3X100), loosen the self locking nut.
|
| 3. |
Remove the insulator, spring seat, coil spring and dust cover from the
strut assembly.
|
| Inspection |
| 1. |
Check the strut insulator for wear or damage.
|
| 2. |
Check rubber parts for damage or deterioration.
|
| 3. |
Compress and extend the piston rod (A) and check that there is no abnormal
resistance or unusual sound during operation.
|
| Disposal |
| 1. |
Fully extend the piston rod.
|
| 2. |
Drill a hole on the A section to remove gas from the cylinder.
|
| Ressembly |
| 1. |
Install the insulator, spring pad, coil spring and dust cover from the
strut assembly.
|
| 2. |
Compress and extend the coil spring (A) and check that there is no abnormal
resistance or unusual sound during operation.
|
| 3. |
Using the special tool (09546-3X100), install the self locking nut.
|
| Installation |
| 1. |
Install in the reverse order of removal.
|
| 2. |
Check the alignment.

Components • Tighten with specifed torque at curb position of vehicle • Fix the strut rod end and tighten the nut 1.

Removal 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the glove box. (Refer to Body - "Glove Box Housing") 3. Remove the smart key unit (A) after loosening the nuts.
Oil Specification 1. The HFC-134a system requires synthetic (PAG) compressor oil whereas the R-12 system requires mineral compressor oil. The two oils must never be mixed. 2. Compressor (PAG) oil varies according to compressor model.
