
Your vehicle is equipped with an Occupant Classification System (OCS) in the front passenger’s seat.
After a frontal or side air bag inflates, it will deflate very quickly. Air bag inflation will not prevent the driver from seeing out of the windshield or being able to steer.
A detection device located within the front passenger seat cushion. Electronic system to determine whether the passenger air bag systems should be activated or deactivated.
Replacement 1. If the compressor is marginally operable, run the engine at idle speed, and let the air conditioning work for a few minutes, then shut the engine off. 2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Inspection 1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 2. Disconnect the evaporator temperature sensor connector. 3. Measure the resistance between terminal "+" and "-" of the evaporator temperature sensor.
