Check signal waveform of CKPS and CMPS using a diagnostic tool.

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
|
| 3. |
Measure resistance between the CKPS terminals 1 and 2.

Check that the resistance is within the specification.

Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.

Lift the vehicle.
|
| 3. |
Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector (A).

Remove the CKP sensor after removing the installation bolt (B).

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Description Camshaft Position Sensor (CMPS) is a hall sensor and detects the camshaft position by using a hall element. It is related with Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) and detects the piston position of each cylinder which the CKPS can't detect.
Removal 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the glove box. (Refer to Body - "Glove Box Housing") 3. Remove the smart key unit (A) after loosening the nuts.
Inspection 1. Check the condenser fins for clogging and damage. If clogged, clean them with water, and blow them with compressed air. If bent, gently bend them using a screwdriver or pliers. 2.
