| Removal and Installation |

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Loosen the drain plug, and drain the engine coolant. Remove the radiator
cap to drain with speed.

Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and exhaust system - "Air Cleaner")

Disconnect the water temperature sensor connector.
(Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Engine Control System")

| 5. |
Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).
|
| 6. |
Remove the heater hose(A).
|
| 7. |
Disconnect the coolant hose(A).
|
| 8. |
Remove the water temperature control assembly (A).
|
| 9. |
Remove the intake manifold.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Intake Manifold")

| 10. |
Remove the water pipe (A).
|
| 11. |
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Removal and Installation • Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot.

Description The PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater is installed at the exit or the backside of heater core. The PTC heater is an electric heater using a PTC element as an auxiliary heating device that supplements deficiency of interior heat source in highly effective diesel engine.
Inspection 1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 2. Disconnect the intake actuator connector. 3. Verify that the intake actuator operates to the fresh position when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4.
