Hyundai Venue (QX): Cooling System / Water Temperature Control Assembly. Repair procedures

Removal and Installation

1.	Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

2.	Loosen the drain plug, and drain the engine coolant. Remove the radiator cap to drain with speed.

3.	Remove the air cleaner assembly. (Refer to Intake and exhaust system - "Air Cleaner")

4.	Disconnect the water temperature sensor connector. (Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Engine Control System")

5.	Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).

6.	Remove the heater hose(A).

7.	Disconnect the coolant hose(A).

Remove the water temperature control assembly (A).

Tightening torque :

9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 10.1 lb-ft)

9.	Remove the intake manifold. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Intake Manifold")

Remove the water pipe (A).

Tightening torque :

M6 bolt:

9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

M8 bolt:

18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

11.	Install in the reverse order of removal.

Removal and Installation • Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot.
