Description An ignition coil is an induction coil in an engine's ignition system which transforms the battery's low voltage to the high voltage needed to create an electric spark in the spark plugs to ignite the fuel.
Troubleshooting Connector assembly status test 1. Remove the connector (A) and reinstall it. Test for changing position of each ignition coil A : Ignition coil w/ misfire code B : Ignition coil w/o misfire code • Do not move with spark plug at the same time (move the ignition coil only)
Replacement 1. If the compressor is marginally operable, run the engine at idle speed, and let the air conditioning work for a few minutes, then shut the engine off. 2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Inspection 1. Connect the battery voltage and check the blower motor rotation. 2. If the blower motor does not operate well, substitute with a known-good blower motor and check for proper operation.
